This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, what we do with it, and the rights you have. It covers our website, our showroom, our quotations, and the supply and installation of our products.

2.The information we collect

2.1

We may collect the following personal information:

2.2

  • the content of your enquiries and our correspondence with you;
  • financial information needed to take payment and to issue receipts and invoices;
  • records of your preferences about marketing;
  • technical information about how you use our website, such as your IP address, browser and the pages you visit.

3.How we collect it

3.1

We collect personal information in the following ways:

3.2
  • when you complete the enquiry or quotation form on this website;
  • when you call, email, write to us or message us;
  • when you visit our showroom;
  • when we carry out a survey, delivery or installation at your property;
  • from third parties, such as recommendation or review platforms, or where an existing customer refers you to us;
  • automatically, through cookies and similar technologies, when you use our website.

4.Why we use it, and our lawful basis

4.1

We use your personal information for the purposes below. Data protection law requires us to have a lawful basis for each purpose, and these are set out alongside each one.

4.2
  • Responding to your enquiry and preparing a quotation — our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us, and taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
  • Carrying out a survey, supplying products and completing your installation — performance of our contract with you.
  • Taking and recovering payment, and keeping financial and tax records — performance of our contract and our legal obligations.
  • Administering guarantees, servicing and aftercare — performance of our contract, and our legitimate interest in supporting the products we install.
  • Contacting existing customers about similar products and services — our legitimate interest in developing our business, on the basis permitted for existing customers.
  • Sending marketing to people who are not existing customers — your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
  • Improving our website, products and services, and understanding how our website is used — our legitimate interest in running and improving our business.
  • Preventing and detecting fraud, and protecting our legal rights — our legitimate interests and our legal obligations.
4.3

We do not use your personal information for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal effects.

5.Who we share it with

5.1

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where it is necessary, and only with organisations who are bound to keep it secure.

5.2
  • manufacturers and suppliers of the products you order, including the fabricator of your frames, glass and integral blinds, so that your order can be produced to the correct specification;
  • our own installation, delivery and service teams;
  • subcontractors and specialist trades working on your installation;
  • IT, hosting, email and customer record providers who support our systems;
  • payment providers and our bank, to process payments;
  • our accountants, insurers and professional advisers;
  • law enforcement, regulators or the courts, where we are required by law to do so or where it is necessary to protect our rights.
5.3

Where we use a supplier who stores information outside the UK, we put appropriate safeguards in place — normally the UK adequacy regulations, or the International Data Transfer Agreement.

6.How long we keep it

6.1
  • Enquiries that do not proceed to an order — 12 months from our last contact with you.
  • Quotations and orders that proceed — six years after the end of the financial year in which the contract ended, as required for tax and accounting purposes.
  • Guarantee, service and product records — for the life of the guarantee, so that we can honour it.
  • Marketing consent and preference records — until you withdraw your consent or object to marketing.
  • Website technical data — for the period set out in the cookie section below.
6.2

Where information is no longer needed, we delete or securely destroy it.

7.Your rights

7.1

You have the following rights in relation to your personal information:

7.2
  • to be told what we hold about you, and to receive a copy of it (access);
  • to have inaccurate information corrected (rectification);
  • to ask us to delete information where there is no good reason for us to keep it (erasure);
  • to ask us to stop using it, or to limit how we use it (restriction);
  • to object to processing based on our legitimate interests, and to object to direct marketing at any time (objection);
  • to receive information you gave us in a portable, machine-readable format, or to have it sent to another organisation (portability);
  • to withdraw any consent you have given at any time.
7.3

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in clause 1. We will respond within one month, and there is normally no charge.

7.4

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so that we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
